Neuware - Im späten 18. Jahrhundert, gegen Ende der deutschen Spätaufklärung, entsteht ein neuer Typus philosophischer Theoriebildung. Als Vertreter tun sich insbesondere Wilhelm und Alexander von Humboldt und Friedrich Schiller hervor. Ästhetischer Holismus nennt Ludger Roth diese neuartige Wissenschaftskonzeption, die sich als direkte Folge auf die Anthropologische Wende, die Französische Revolution und die kritische Philosophie Immanuel Kants entwickelt. Anhand paradigmatischer Texte der Humboldt-Brüder und Friedrich Schillers hebt Roth zentrale Aspekte hervor und setzt sie ins Verhältnis zur vorausgegangenen Wissenschaftskonzeption und Aufklärungsphilosophie sowie zur nachfolgenden Philosophie der Romantik und des Deutschen Idealismus.
